9 CERVICITIS–(chronic inflammation of the cervix is very common in about 80% of women with any gynecological complaints. In majority of the cases it is due to infection that occur during abortion, or childbirth. Severe chronic cervicitis patient may complain of mucous or muco purulent vaginal discharge, and may also complain chronic backache, low abdominal pain and deep dyspareunia. There is no evidence that chronic cervicitis per se leads to malignancy of the cervix.
